As an agency of the United States, Library of Congress is an eligible institution under the Internal Revenue Code to received charitable contributions of cash or property. The Library of Congress is not a 501(c)(3) corporation. The proper statutory reference is 26 U.S.C. 170(c)(1). Therefore, your contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the law.
